The aim of this department is to minister to the physical and emotional needs of our members. This includes counselling/ emotional support, financial assistance (eg. educational grants), seniors club and welfare. The Care Ministry is here to help people proactively grow as individuals and also to provide assistance for those seasons in life when you need someone to care.
Ministries
Counselling/Emotional Support
We are mindful of the psychological and emotional challenges facing our members. To this end we will endeavour to offer support as best as possible by visiting with them, attending funerals of family members and offering whatever assistance that can help them overcome.
Married Couples Programme
Achieve the Married Couples strategic objective of the United Pentecostal Church of Jamaica (UPCJ), that is, Establish and implement a structured Married Couples Programme of activities.
Financial Assistance
The pressure of economic challenges often confronts our members and we are morally obligated to minister to these needs. We will therefore seek to offer assistance as the need arises on a case by case basis with an aim to empower rather than encourage reliance.
Education
In the first year, one fund raising event will be done. Profit generated from this event will be used to provide assistance to students returning to school.
By the second year of operation we should be in a position to offer small educational scholarships to our members.
Other
We will also seek to continue partnering with Food for the Poor so that food and other domestic items can be sourced to help in this area.
SENIORS CLUB
A good percentage of our members are over the age of 60 and are unemployed. Most are in good health but are not directly involved in church or community activities. We will therefore get them involved in the Seniors Club where they can meet and share together as they go through their twilight years.
